Styled to Inspire: Designer Spotlight with Tasha Bracken, SD Events

Describe this look in three words.
Timeless, Classic, Warm

What was the inspiration behind this design?
We wanted to infuse the elegant, an estate dinner party with thoughtful touches and sophisticated embellishments. A lot of the designs today are minimalist and we wanted to bring back a sense of warmtha setting where you want to spend the evening dining, having great conversation or a romantic dance with your partner. Think gilded age, dinner with the Rockefellers but updated for modern day.

What were your favorite PEAK rentals to use for this styled photoshoot?
Everything fit our aesthetic to a ‘T’, but I think our favorite components were the Antique Mirror Bar and the Antoinette Bleu China which popped off the table.

Do you have a favorite product or linen you love using at your events?
I love linen and am so glad we are seeing a comeback after years of the farm table trend. [Linens] can add warmth, depth and comfort. I love to incorporate anything that tells our clients’ story and adds to the guest experience. Maybe it’s a personal note from the couple or a design element that conveys their love of nature—anything that brings guests closer to the host. It’s easy to create a beautiful event, but it should also feel beautiful.

Describe your design aesthetic and philosophy.
SDE is focused on transcending the trends and focusing on all-things timeless, beautiful and classic. We want our clients to look back at the photos and still see the beauty, not, “Oh, that was so 1980s…”

What are some trends, colors, products you see trending in 2019?
We’re seeing more color. I love mauve; it is edger than blush, pops but still has that soft romantic feel.

Events are all about the guest experience and thoughtful touch points. We always have on hand readers, tissues, black napkins—rescue flats are a big fav! Guests remember that you thought about them and their needs!
